Our technologies are providing for two possible outcomes of processing of sludge, silt, etc. It allows to turn the processed matter (i) to another hazard class (in a technical soil) or (ii) to another product (a fertile soil).

During the Initial Period,
-
the samples shall be collected;
-
the laboratory analyzes shall be conducted;
-
the collected information shall be processed;
-
the selection of alkaline additives and sorbent shall be done;
-
the preliminary determination of required amounts of alkaline additives and amount of sorbent per unit of slit’s weight.
In our scheme the Process of Decontamination of sludge is done in three stages.
-
First stage: Adding alkaline additives. The one of the following methods of cleaning gas emissions are recommended:
- biological (biofilter);
- absorption (alkaline scrubber) to produce ammonia water, which can be used as a fertilizer. -
Second stage: Adding sorbent.
-
Third stage: Dehydration.
During the Preparatory Period, the pilot program will be conducted for each slit disposal (cart) which shall conclusively determine the required amounts of alkaline additives and amount of sorbent per unit of slit’s weight. During the pilot program, all three stages of our scheme will be utilized on the experimental set-up.
During the Working Period, all three stages of our scheme will be utilized using the working phase equipment. Also, the monitoring of the technological process and the laboratory studies of the incoming & resulting matters will be conducted, which will allow the optimization of process in relation to the variation in the sludge composition and condition.
Based on the economic situation and or economic justification the processing of the used sorbent may be conducted.
For example, in some cases, the Process of Decontamination of the used sorbent will be conducted. Such process may consist of:
-
gasification of the used sorbent using waste-to-energy technology,
-
separation of gases from the main remaining contaminants & tailings and
-
separation of gases from each other,
-
treatment, storage, and disposal of the main remaining contaminants & tailings [in many cases use of such processed matter],
-
utilization and use of the separated gases.
In other instances, the Process of Destruction of the used sorbent is economically justified, in such cases the Microwave plasma torch may be used for the Process of Destruction of the used sorbent.
